Dec 22 – Jan 19
This painting depicts the sea goat, Capricorn, with Saturn as its planet, and ivy as its plant. The colors of Capricorn are earthy colors, including metallics. The glyph for Capricorn is shown as a shadow over the goat. Saturn's symbol is painted in metallic paint on the the planet. The four corners of the border show the glyph, the duality - feminine, the triplicity - Cardinal, and the quadruplicity or element - Earth. The additional symbols repeated along the sides are the House, the 2 numbers, and the time of year.
In Greek mythology, Capricorn is identified with the Shepherd-god Pan, a Satyr – top half man and bottom half goat. It is said that when the evil demon Typhoon chased Pan, Pan turned into a full goat to run, but when he reached a river, he quickly changed his bottom half into a fish tail to swim to safety.
