Heather's Art Studios

My mother was a painter - acrylics and watercolor.  She could draw anything and drew all the time.  She always kept a journal and when we traveled to Europe together one summer she drew quick sketches and made quick watercolor/pen paintings as we sat in restaurants, stood on the street, or sat in cafes.  She rubbed off on me, or maybe its the genes, but I find myself constantly making art.

While glass is my major medium, I cannot limit my addiction to one art form.  I began working with glass in 1975 when I took my first stained glass class.  I have since included fusing, lampworking and copper enamel into my glass works.  I have been weaving for close to 30 years, and continue to enjoy it, especially with the new fibers available.  And of course I've been drawing and painting pretty much forever.

Each type of art takes its own set of tools and work space.  Some materials and workspaces overlap or can be shared, while others reqire careful control to avoid contamination.  Please visit all my studio pages to see the tools I work with and read about my process for each type of art work that I create.
